John W. Hayden, Board Member at Hauser Private Equity, Receives Top Local Professional Accolade

For many professionals, industry-specific recognitions provide recognition of a job well done. Recently, Hauser Private Equity’s John W. Hayden earned one of the most prestigious honors that a senior executive can secure from the business community of Cincinnati, Ohio. He will enter the ranks of the Greater Cincinnati Business Hall of Fame in March of 2022 as a member of its 27th inducted class.

A longtime resident of the American Midwest, John Hayden holds an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and a Master of Business Administration from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Over the course of his long and illustrious business career, he worked his way to the top of the insurance industry, serving tenures as President and Chief Executive Officer of both the American Modern Insurance Group and The Midland Company.

Employed by The Midland Company for roughly three decades, John W. Hayden worked his way up through company ranks while making powerful contributions in areas that ranged from product development to sales management. He ultimately served as The Midland Company’s head administrator for 13 years.

During his tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer, John Hayden led The Midland Company to a growth in market capitalization from $180 million to $1.35 billion, in company revenues from $375 million to $1.2 billion, in company assets from $760 million to $1.7 billion, and in pre-tax company profits from $35 million to $120 million.

If he hadn’t gotten to know the business while paying his dues in different departments, John W. Hayden is well aware that his outcomes as President and Chief Executive Officer might have been substantially different. The insights that he gained in the various departments of The Midland Company gave him the comprehensive purview that he needed to take a truly holistic approach to business operations and expansion.

Since retiring from The Midland Company, John Hayden has continued to play an important role in the Cincinnati business community as a board director with Hauser Private Equity. A private equity fund manager that focuses on co-investment activities, Hauser Private Equity works with funds that add value, in part by adjusting operational leadership within portfolio companies.

In addition to his responsibilities at Hauser Private Equity, John W. Hayden is an executive committee member with CincyTech USA and a board director with both Ohio National Financial Services and the E.W. Scripps Company. He also heads the private advisement agency CJH Consulting.

Junior Achievement of OKI Partners, operating in conjunction with the Cincinnati Museum Center, recognized John Hayden’s past and ongoing accomplishments by naming him a 2021 laureate of the Greater Cincinnati Business Hall of Fame. Chosen by an elite group of local business leaders, laureates are thoroughly vetted to identify industry pioneers, visionary entrepreneurs, and administrative innovators. Induction into the Business Hall of Fame is widely recognized as the top regional honor that an administrator can obtain. For the risk management professionals at Hauser Private Equity, this recognition is another reminder of the talented, committed, and successful leadership of the company.
